The 26th annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project (JRCWP 2009) was held in the Mekong River region through November 15-20th, 2009. At the main project site of Chaing Mai, Thailand, Hidetoshi Nakata (former professional soccer player) and Jet Li (action movie star) joined thousands of volunteers from around the world to build 82 houses. More than 70 volunteers from the US, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Korea etc will gather in Delhi to help build homes in hopes of eliminating poverty housing in India.
The project features the 14 homes, the starting point for all 1.8 million houses in the country with 60% of them are makeshift or falling apart.
